Q. Hi Diane! So we have a 2 year old Boxer. He is indoor 80% of the time, gets a lot of exercise and very happy, playful. But he tends to scratch at his neck and ear/face area a few times/day. He’s been doing this since he was little. It has cut down some since we started feeding him PetSmart brand grain free chicken & pea dry food. It also cut down some when we started to supplement with Allergy Immune Supplement for Dogs – With Omega 3 Wild Alaskan Salmon Fish Oil & EpiCor + Digestive Prebiotics & Probiotics – Seasonal Allergies + Anti Itch & Hot Spots Skin Support chews which we bought off Amazon. But he still scratches those spots 2-4x daily for a bout 10-15 seconds each time. Thoughts?

A. Hi Don, You certainly have done wonderful things to help your pup. Some thoughts are to change your proteins every season, and since he has been doing this since he was a puppy you might want to try a fish protein or duck or rabbit. What material is your collar? Also, do you use pesticides on him for flea and tick control? My male dog gets very itchy on chicken especially his ears, so I only feed that occasionally. I hope this helps!
Thank you for your question, Diane
